Privacy Policy

What Restadian collects, what it does not, and how the site's tools handle what you enter. A structural draft, pending legal review.

Scope

This policy covers the Restadian website and the tools published on it. It does not cover any third-party site you reach by following a link from here.

What this draft can and cannot say

The sections below set out the shape of the eventual policy and the intentions behind it. They do not yet describe a finalised set of practices, because the site’s tools and analytics are still being built and the policy has not been through legal review.

Where a section describes an intention rather than a settled practice, it says so. Nothing here should be read as a binding commitment until the reviewed version replaces it.

Information you give us

Newsletter. If you subscribe to The Restadian Brief, we collect the email address you provide. The intention is to use it to send the Brief and for nothing else, and to include an unsubscribe link in every issue.

Correspondence. If you email us, we hold that correspondence in order to reply to it.

Information the tools handle

The site’s tools ask for information about your schedule. The design intention is that tool inputs are processed in your browser and are not transmitted to us unless a specific tool states otherwise on its own page.

This intention will be confirmed tool by tool as each one ships, and each tool page will state plainly what it does with what you type. Until a tool is published, treat this section as a statement of intent.

Information collected automatically

Web servers record requests as a matter of ordinary operation, which typically includes IP address, browser and device type, referring page, and timestamp.

Our analytics approach has not been finalised. When it is, this section will name any analytics provider used, state what it collects, say whether it sets cookies, and explain how to opt out.

Cookies

The site does not currently set advertising or cross-site tracking cookies, and there is no present intention to introduce them. If any cookie is introduced beyond what is strictly necessary to operate the site, this section will describe it and a consent mechanism will be in place before it is used.

Sharing

We do not sell personal information. Any processors used to operate the site — for example an email service provider for the newsletter — will be named in the reviewed version of this policy, along with what each one receives.

Retention

Retention periods have not been set. The reviewed version will state how long each category of information is kept and what triggers its deletion.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port information we hold about you, and to object to certain processing. The reviewed version will set out how to exercise those rights and the timeframe for a response.

In the meantime, requests can be sent to the privacy address on the contact page and will be handled in good faith.

Children

Restadian is written for adults and is not directed at children.

Changes

When this policy changes, the date at the top of the page will change with it. Substantive changes will be noted rather than made silently.
